Enjoy the blog!

I interviewed 2 new students from Acts-es!

We had been waiting to see each other for sooooo long and are so glad to finally meet these guys!!

The first guest is Jason from Ohio!

My impression of him is that he is so calm and gentle.

BUT!!! Through this blog, you will know he has a burning desire to study the Bible and proclaiming the Gospel in Japan!

Then, let’s get started!

MGMX: What was your inspiration of joining TCU?

JASON: I first heard about TCU when I was in Japan in 2019 on a one-month trip with OMF. I already knew at that time that God was calling me to Japan, and I also had been thinking about going to a Bible college to study the Bible more. As I looked into TCU a little more, I became excited about the possibility of studying the Bible in Japan, and about TCU’s emphasis on community, fellowship, and church life as part of their education, and the international community that makes up the students and faculty of TCU.

Well, we are so excited of God’s plan in your life here in Japan!

MGMX: What things do you want to challenge yourself with as you do life in TCU or Japan?

JASON: On a personal level, I want to challenge myself socially. I have a hard time starting conversations, and I can be slow to make friends, so I want to, and have been trying to, be more active with things like talking to people at meals and joining the Volleyball and WaWaWa circles. On a wider level, I want to somehow encourage more connections between Japanese and English track students at TCU. I’ve heard that the two groups can tend to stay separate, with English students mostly spending time with English students and Japanese students mostly spending time with Japanese students. I’ve also seen some of that during my time at TCU so far, although it is not as significant as I thought it would be, at least not yet. I don’t know what to do about bringing the two groups of students together, but I would like to see them closer when I graduate than they are now when I’ve just started. On the level of Japan, I have a particular burden on my heart for the people of Japan’s pornography industry. I would like to somehow be a positive influence within the Church in Japan to bring the Gospel to such people and help rescue them from that kind of life.

Thanks, Jason!

Let’s move on to the next person!

It’s Chin from India~~!!!

My impression of her is that she is so fashionable and always cute!

MGMX: What is the highlight of your TCU life so far?

Chin: The highlight of my TCU life so far, I believe, is the community. Everyone that I have met at TCU has been so wonderful, including the seniors that have already graduated. I am blessed to be surrounded by many people who care. Everyone has tried their level best to communicate with each other no matter the language barrier and for that, I am very grateful. I have felt so warm since coming to campus and I give my honest gratitude to the community of TCU for this.

Yes! TCU became even more wonderful that you are here!

MGMX: What things do you want to challenge yourself with as you do life in TCU or Japan?

Chin: I want to challenge myself to take up courses or confront situations that scare me. I am a person that usually runs away from something that may stress me out, but I do not want to be that kind of person anymore. I do not want to run away and stay in my comfort zone. I know that it will be challenging at first. Even now, I am still afraid, but I pray that God will help me to push myself out of my comfort space and start to live life without being so frightened anymore.

Thank you guys!!

We are so happy to have you in our community and excited to get to know you more and more!
