Introducing Our New Department: Global Liberal Arts for Christian Life and Ministry

Since its founding in 1990, Tokyo Christian University has been equipping individuals to live out the gospel in society through deep engagement with theology and international studies, rooted in the spirit of Christian liberal arts. Our mission extends beyond training pastors for the church—we are committed to nurturing leaders who will bring Christ-centered transformation to a wide range of fields in society. In 2025, we will take this mission even further by renaming our Theological Studies Department to Global Liberal Arts for Christian Life and Ministry.

Integrating theology with international liberal arts, this program is designed to cultivate servant leaders who seek peace in a divided world and work toward a better future. Through a well-rounded education that fosters theological depth, intercultural understanding, and strong communication skills, students will be equipped to navigate today’s diverse and ever-changing society.
