Become a total communicator. In TEC, get all the language skills you need to join the global conversation in English.

異文化コミュニケーション:Cross-Cultural Communication (CCC)

国際コミュニケーション：留学生と友人になる、ミニストリーを広げる、文化の懸け橋となる、などの目標を達成するための学びのクラス
Experience international communications. In CCC, get the knowledge you need to make international friends, grow ministry, and build bridges across cultures.

文学（英語）:English Literature (LIT)

ことばの芸術、価値観、文化の発見：素晴らしい詩、歌、物語を味わい、ことばの力と美を知るクラス
Discover art, values, and culture through words. In LIT, enjoy the power and beauty of words through amazing poetry, songs, and stories in English.

English for a Higher Purpose

Japanese junior high and high school students often ask us questions about English. Most of the time, their questions are about problems on English exams. And most of the time, we feel a little sad after talking with them. Why? First, the English texts in school are usually too difficult. Second, they must read about topics that they do not care about. There is no joy, no discovery, no fun in their English study. Only exams. And when the exams are gone, so is their main reason for learning English.
At TCU, we want students to improve their English for a higher purpose. We want them to have fun learning about the world, about people, about God. How can we do that? We try to meet them where they are. We try to help them discover big ideas through amazing stories. If we can do that, our students will surely learn and grow. And this time, they will not stop learning and growing after they have taken their final exam.
TCUの英語教育が目指すもの
日本人の中高生から、英語についてよく尋ねられます。殆どは英語のテスト問題についての質問です。彼らと話した後、少々悲しい気持ちになってしまうのには、理由があります。それはまず、彼らの受けるテストが難し過ぎるからです。そして文章問題の内容が、彼らの興味をひくものではないからです。彼らにとっての英語は、喜びも発見も楽しみもない、テストのための教科です。ですから、テストがなくなれば、学ぶ理由もなくなってしまいます。
ＴＣＵの英語科目では、より大きな目的のために英語力をつけることを目指しています。学生たちが英語を使って世界を、人々を、そして神様を知る楽しさを、知ってほしいと願います。ですから、彼らにちょうど良い難易度の、思わず引き込まれるようなストーリーから、重要な思想を学びとる手助けをしています。それができるようになれば、彼らは確実に力をつけます。さらに期末テストの後も自ら学び続け、成長し続ける人となるでしょう。

※特に、国際キリスト教学専攻の学生は、優先的に留学生とルームメイトになることができます。
