和カフェ　～Japanese Cafe～

2月26日(金曜日)に4年生女子でカフェを企画しました。今までにインディアンカフェやアメリカンカフェなどを企画してきた友達がリードを取り、共に学び共に卒業を迎える同学年での最後の企画でした。もちろん、結果として4年生以外の学生・先生方の協力があり実現しました。これが起こりうるのもＴＣＵの素晴らしさだと実感させられています。
On February 26th, the senior girls planned a Japanese Cafe for a day. One of my friends who had planned some other cafe events took a leadership. We planned this cafe event as our last one. We started only with seniors but ended up with a lot of heartfelt help from students and teachers. At TCU, this sort of thing happens and that’s why TCU is wonderful.

カフェは、「和カフェ　～Japanese Cafe～」と題して、抹茶と和菓子のセット、パンケーキにアイスを添えてきな粉とあん蜜をかけた和テイストのスイーツ、そしてカフェには欠かせないコーヒーを用意しました。
We called the Cafe “和カフェ(wa-cafe)　～Japanese Cafe～.” We had maccha and Japanese sweet set, pancake with ice-cream and soy been powder and an-misu(Japanese sweet syrop) on it. and of course coffee.

金曜日の午後1時からオープンし、みんなのテスト前の休憩や勉強場所となりました。ハープの素敵なＢＧＭが流れ、先生が特別に下さったほうじ茶のいい香りとホットケーキの甘い匂いに包まれた居心地の良い空間でした。
We opened the cafe from 1 pm as a place to study. With the relaxing harp music, the smell of the Houji-tea(Japanese tea), sweet smell of pan-cake, it was a comfy and relaxing time.

夜の7時からは卒業生を中心としたメンバーのダンスや歌のライブがあり、盛り上がりつつも美しい歌声とハーモニーに癒される時でした。これが見られるのも最後だと思うと寂しさがこみ上げますが、最後にもう一度見れたことに何より感謝し、一人一人の賜物がこれから新たなところで用いられる事に期待してます・・・
We also had a live from 7 pm. Seniors and some other students made groups for performing dances or songs. It was their last performance, so the room was packed and every one had fun. I hope that they use their gifts to shine at the next place they go.

最後の出し物は、企画してくれた友達の飛び入り参加の賛美でした。ＴＣＵ生の作った賛美を一緒に歌い、最後にはその場にいたみんなで賛美を捧げていました。「私はすべてを福音のためにしているだろうか・・・」 の歌詞が印象的で、カフェを企画しつついろいろ考え悩みつつ主を見上げて準備してきた彼女の思いを感じつつ、私自身心に問いかけられました。「私はすべてを福音のためにしているだろうか・・・」
The friend who planned the cafe performed a worship song at the end. The song was written by TCU student and we sang it together at the end. She shared one phrase from that song. “Am I doing everything for the good news?” I believe that she must have looked up to the Lord, with a lots of thoughts while planning all her other cafes. I also asked myself. “Am I doing everything for the good news?”

約50名の先生や学生が来て下さり、材料費を除いた売上金と献金を合わせて約2万円を集めることができ、その集まったお金を同級生のhi-b.a.フルタイム志願者を支えている「浜岡みのりを支える会」に献金しました。
About 50 students and teachers came to the cafe. The proceeds included a donation that was 20,000 yen. We donated that amount to one of our class mates who will be a full-time staff at hi-b.a.(Evangelist group for high school students).
